Counting Control Lists

An ordered list will by default begin numbering at 1. The start attribute can
be used to start counting at a specific number:

Example :

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
    <meta charset=“utf-8”>
    <meta name=“viewport” content=“width=device-width, initial-scale=1”>
    <title>Counting Control Lists</title>
</head>
<body>

    <h2>The start property</h2>

        <li>Milk</li>

Lists of HTML descriptions

Term descriptions are included in a description list, which is a list of
terms.

The terms (names) are defined by the
<dt> tag, the
<dl> tag specifies the
description list, and the
<dd> tag explains each term:

Example :

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
    <meta charset=“utf-8”>
    <meta name=“viewport” content=“width=device-width, initial-scale=1”>
    <title>HTML list</title>
</head>
<body>

    <h2>A Description List</h2>

    <dl>
        <dt>Milk</dt>
        <dd>– white cold beverage</dd>
        <dt>Coffee</dt>
        <dd>– black hot beverage</dd>
    </dl>
